07/31/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Delivered to the RN on July 31, 1959, this was one of only 76 production examples of the low-level strike aircraft. Coded 611 it served with 736 Naval Air Squadron at Lossiemouth until it was lost on November 15,1962. After a bird strike the engine caught fire and at 400 ft (122 m) and 483 mph (778 kmh) the pilot, Lieutenant Commander J.F. Kennett ejected to safety."
