Johan Visschedijk: "The first aircraft of the third production batch of the multi-role transport type, this aircraft was delivered to the RAF on May 2, 1949. Withdrawn from active service with the RAF, the aircraft was transferred to the Decca Navigator Company Ltd. (initially on loan) and converted into a flying laboratory for navigation and doppler equipment, being registered as G-APKR on February 10, 1958. On September 21, 1963, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair, when the landing gear collapsed after landing at Gatwick, the registration was cancelled on October 16, 1963."
