01/31/2010.First flown on April 26, 1966, XS904 was assigned to RAF No. 11 Squadron. Withdrawn from service it was flown by British Aerospace in support of the Tornado F3 Radar Development trials. After retirement in late 1992 it was acquired by the Lightning Preservation Group at Bruntingthorpe. Arriving there on January 21, 1993, the aircraft is preserved for high-speed taxi runs on several occasions a year.
