Johan Visschedijk: "This was the first production FB.Mk.11 built by Hawker at Langley, Slough, Buckinghamshire, England, and was first flown on September 5, 1947. It saw action in the Korean War late 1950, early 1951, and was stored in 1954. It was struck off charge in November 1962.

It was returned to Hawker in 1963, and partly restored it was donated to the
FAA in 1971. The restoration was finished by the FAA in December 1971, and it was test flown by Duncan Simpson, Chief Test Pilot of Hawker on January 16, 1972, and handed over to the Royal Navy Historical Flight. Due to a hydraulic failure the aircraft crashed into the sea on June 10, 1989, the pilot, Lt. Cdr. John Beattie bailed out safely."
