North American NA-174 T-28D Trojan

10/31/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "One (s/n 51-3626) of 1,194 T-28A trainers produced for the USAF in the early fifties, this aircraft was sold to France in the early sixties, where it was converted by Sud-Aviation at Saint Nazaire, to a ground-attack aircraft designated Fennec (Dessert Fox) by the French AF. The aircraft returned to the USA in 1968, registered as N14121. Converted to a T-28D it was delivered to the AF of Haiti, s/n 1238, in October 1973.

The aircraft returned again to the USA in March 1978, and took up its previous registration N14121. Finished in the pictured USN markings of VT-5 and coded 121/WD USS Lexington it attended several air shows. As C-GJMT it was briefly registered in Canada, between May 1987 and January 1988. Since it has been reregistered N5015L, while carrying the same markings, and named California Girl, it is presently finished in an overall grey."
