05/31/2008. The aircraft was manufactured as H-21C and was delivered to the USAF on September 10, 1954 with s/n 51-15886. Already in January 1956 it was transferred to the US Army and redesignated CH-21C in 1962.

Struck off charge it came on the civil registry as N68788, on July 28, 1986 it was reregistered N48082. The registration was cancelled August 5, 1992, reasoned as being destroyed. However the aircraft was placed on display at McClellan on December 20, 1989.

The McClellan Air Museum (former McClellan AFB Museum) became the Aerospace Museum of California in November 2005.
