Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built for the USAF as a C-130A-45-LM under s/n 57-0496, subsequently it was the first Hercules converted to a GC-130A drone launcher and controller. It was delivered to the USAF in 1958, and redesignated DC-130A in 1962. It was stored at
MASDC on January 9, 1979, while on March 13, 1979 it was transferred to the USN under the out-of sequence BuNo. 570496. In 2003 it was deployed to Kuwait for operations over Iraq, four years later, June 27, 2007, it was stored on the same location again, which by then had been renamed
309 AMARG."
