08/15/2008. Remarks by Bernhard Klein: "On August 1, 1928, G-EBVG was flown into London by Shorts' Chief Test Pilot, John Lankester Parker, accompanied by Oswald Short, and landed on the Thames River. It was moored off the Albert Embankment in front of the British Parliament buildings for three days for inspection by Members of Parliament and other politicians.

In the late 1920s, early 1930s several of this type of "Flying boat" served on the British Empire routes. G-EBVG was damaged beyond repair on December 28, 1936."
