01/31/2010. Embraer also entered the light and economical company and taxi airplane market when it launched the six-seat Phenom 100 and the larger eight-seat Phenom 300 in May 2005 as the Very Light Jet program.

Powered by two 1,615 lb (732 kg) st Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F turbofans, the Phenom 100 was first flown at São José dos Campos on July 26, 2007, followed by the second prototype (PP-XOM c/n 5000001) on September 27.

The Phenom received its Type Certificate on December 9, 2008, and the first delivery was made to private owners in Houston, Texas, USA on December 24, 2008, registered as N82DU (c/n 50000008).
