This aircraft was built for the Royal Navy as WH589, but was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy. Struck off charge it was sold to the UK and registered at G-AGHB. After a crash at Osnabruck, Germany, on June 24, 1979, the remains were transported to the USA. There it was re-built with parts of former Royal Navy VX715 and WJ290 and re-engined with a P&W R-4360 to an Unlimited Class Racer, and marked with race number "15".
