02/28/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built to a US Navy order under BuNo. 142361, for use by the USCG as G-64 UF-1G, code 1291. Later it was upgraded to G-234 UF-2G and in 1962 it was redesignated HU-16E. The aircraft was loaned to Iceland between January and May 1969, and used for fishery protection. Subsequently it was stored at AMARC for some years and then put on display at Bob's Air Park, Tucson, Arizona.
After several years it was sold and restored to flying condition and became N143DB on the civil registry. The aircraft was exported to Australia and registered there as VH-MAH on August 3, 1998."
