11/30/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This is aircraft number 4 of Observation Squadron Three (VO-3) in the battleship USS Mississippi (BB-41). The nine aircraft of VO-3 were assigned to the three battleships of Battleship Division Three (BatDiv 3), i.e., USS Idaho (BB-42), USS Mississippi and USS New Mexico (BB-40). There were three SOC-3s or SON-1s assigned to each battleship." |
