10/15/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft served with the US Coast Guard from August 1941 to August 1947 when it was declared surplus and sold and registered NC69082.

The Coast Guard J4Fs were primarily used for search and rescue in coastal waters and as utility transports. When the German submarines began attacking ships off the US east coast, it was drafted as an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft. In February 1943, this aircraft was assigned to Coast Air Station San Francisco, California."
