09/27/2004. Remarks by Alfred
Damen: "This aircraft with a Philippine registration is
the ex-Spain Do 24 T-3 c/n 5345 used by Dornier to try to interest
the operators of the Do 24 in the eighties in upgrading their
machines. This consisted of replacing the receiproking engines by
turbo-props and modify the wing.
The program was called TT
(Technologie Träger = Technology Testbed). The sole test aircraft
flew for the first time April 25, 1983 registered as D-CATD.
After the test program it was donated to the Deutsche Museum and
from there taken by the grandson of Dornier to the Philipines and
overhauled. Stationed at Biggen Hill, UK, it was intended to make
a world tour with his aircraft."
