06/30/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "From the start the unpressurized all-metal eight-seat Kodiac was designed as a bush and utility aircraft, especially focused on humanitarian and missionary operations.

Powered by a 750 shp Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-34 turboprop and registered N491KQ (c/n 100-0001), the prototype was first flown at Sandpoint Municipal Airport, Idaho, USA on March 16, 2007, gaining its CofA on September 20, 2007. The first production aircraft, N838SA c/n 100-0002, was delivered to Spirit Air on January 28, 2008."
