North American NA-195 T-6G Texan

09/30/2015. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Between 1949 and 1953 the North American factory at Fresno, California, remanufactured 121 T-6 and SNJ models to the T-6G-NF Texan. These received new company designations, a new c/n and new USAF serials: NA-195, c/n 195-1 to 195-11, 51-17354 to 51-17364; NA-197, c/n 197-1 to 195-110, 52-8197 to 52-8246 and 53-4555 to 53-4614.

The pictured aircraft reportedly served in Korea as a forward air control LT-6G, subsequently it was transferred to the Portuguese AF. It was bought by Arthur D. Medore of Hemet, California, USA and registered N4269P on March 24, 1981. In 1992 it was sold to Andrew T. Gemellaro, Canoga Park, California, while Bill Hane of B & M HUN LLC. at Mesa, Aarizona, became the next owner in September 1994. Since December 5, 2006, Marcia L. Hane, also of Mesa, is the present owner.

The aircraft is named Rozinante after Don Quixote's horse, which also explains the six 'kill' symbols below the cockpit in the form of windmills."
