"We live both in New Zealand and France, I took several of these
pictures at Mandeville Airfield, Southland, in the southern summer of
2001. Being a mechanic/enthusiast I noticed the quality of Croydon
Aircraft work. Planes are stripped to bare metal, primed, canvassed
and painted as new. Engine, controls and instruments completely
refurbished to original state. I did fly the Tiger Moth, including ZK-BRC (c/n DHNZ115). Most
aircraft rebuilt and flown there had a career pioneering the rugged
New Zealand Westland before any road was cut though the thick rain
forest, landing on beaches." |
