British Aerospace Hawk Mk.115 CT-155

02/28/2019. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This is the first Hawk built for the CAF, it was first flown in the UK on April 13, 2000, allotted the temporarily UK serial ZJ669 for initial tests. On July 3, 2000, the aircraft was delivered to the CAF, allotted the serial 155201.

On June 10, 2011, while conducting an instructor upgrade sortie and wingman syllabus mission from CFB Cold Lake, Alberta, the two qualified instructors from No. 419 Tactical Fighter (Training) Squadron, experienced an engine failure and decided to return to CFB Cold Lake. The wingman reported smoke pouring out of the engine, and the crew decided to shut down the engine. During the glide back it became eminent that they would not reach the base and tried to restart the engine. The wingman reported flames coming out of engine and the crew ejected at 2.500 ft (762 m). The instructors Vogan and Lundgreen-Nielsen received minor injuries, the aircraft was destroyed in the crash, only 2.5 mls (4 km) from base."
