Hansa-Brandenburg W 26

07/31/2012. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The two-seat two-bay W 26 long-range sea reconnaissance aircraft of 1917, whose appearance looked outdated, was in fact equipped to the latest standards. In addition to flexible and a fixed machine gun armament, the aircraft was also fitted with a radio transmitter and receiver, and was driven by a 260 hp Mercedes D IVa engine. Despite excellent performances, including a range of 621 mls (1,000 km), only three aircraft were constructed."
