02/28/2009. Remarks by Kees Kort
: "This familiar picture shows the first production Fokker D.VII. Interesting is the national cross-patée marking on the fuselage, a big white square with the Eisernkreuz (Iron Cross). This form of marking was officially not allowed after October 29, 1916. Fokker disregarded this rule until the introduction of the Balkenkreuz (Bar Cross) on April 10, 1918. Picture may date from March 1918."
