After the abandonment by Ignaz 'Igo' Etrich of his patent on the Taube construction, about 500 examples were produced in one or other form by many companies and individuals in single or large numbers. Theodor Lawrenz produced two, the second is shown, powered by an 100 hp Argus engine. Note the special produced radiator following the rounding of the fuselage.
Lawrenz gained its pilot license, No. 638, at Johannisthal, near Berlin, on January 2, 1914.
