This design by Dr. Henry Millicer, Chief Aerodynamicist of the Australian Government Aircraft Factory (GAF), was chosen as the best of 104 entrants of a 1952 design competition held by the Royal Aero Club of Great Britain for a two-seat light aircraft. Later a group of members of the Australian ULAA (Ultra Light Aircraft Association) build the shown wooden prototype, this was flown for the first time on March 31, 1959 piloted by Flight Lieutenant Randall Green. This protype led to the well-known all-metal Airtourer and CT/4 Airtrainer series produced by several companies. |
