05/31/2008. Before this helicopter was registered as VH-PLU on May 9, 2007, it had flown in Papua New Guinea as P2-PAK, in Australia as VH-IRG, and in Israel as 4X-BJB. The helicopter crashed near Townsville, Queensland on April 9, 2008, both the pilot and passenger were seriously injured.

The 369 was designed by Hughes Aircraft Division as a light observation helicopter and designated OH-6A by the US Army it flew for the first time on February 27, 1963. The civil counterpart and military export versions had a 369 engineering designation and have been marketed as Model 500 and 530 versions, hence the VH-PLU is officially registered as a 369E and carries the marketing designation 500E.
