03/31/2009. Manufactured as a OH-58A-BF under the US Army s/n 71-20916, this helicopter was delivered to the CAF as a CH-136 Kiowa on June 12, 1972, serialed 136251. It served with No. 427 and 430 (Tactical Helicopter) Squadrons at respectively CFB Petawawa, Ontario, and CFB Valcartier, Quebec.
Struck off charge it came on the US civil registry as N6228C on March 15, 2004, owned by Coastal Helicopters of Panama City, Florida. Eight months later, on November 24, the registration was cancelled.
It reappeared in Australia were it was registered as VH-MZN on July 14, 2005. AMT Helicopters Pty. Ltd. (trading as Airwork Helicopters and Airwork Aviation), of Caboolture, Queensland, had adapted it into an agriculture spraying device. Reportedly it has also been designated AMT OH-58A (c/n AMT 005).
