04/30/2007. Remarks by Jack Mckillop: "This aircraft was delivered to the USAF in January 1960 as an F-106A-105-CO and issued to a squadron in Indiana. Between 1963 and 1972, it served with squadrons in California, Florida and Maine. On April 14,1972, this F-106 was assigned to the 95th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 20th Air Division, Aerospace Defense Command, and based at Dover AFB.

It served at Dover less than a year and was transferred to the 119th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 177th Fighter Interceptor Group, New Jersey Air National Guard based at Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey in February 1973. The "Jersey Devils" operated this aircraft until they began transitioning to F-16s in 1988 and this machine was sent to the AMARC for storage.

In 1992, the aircraft was converted to a QF-106A drone with s/n AD218 and based initially at Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, New Mexico and later Tyndall AFB near Panama City, Florida, as a target drone. It was flown to the AMC museum on February 20, 1998 and repainted in the markings of the 95th Fighter Interceptor Squadron it wore in 1972-73."
