05/15/2007. This aircraft as ordered by the USAAF as a P-38L-5-LO (Lockheed Model 422-87-23), s/n 44-26961, but was converted to the F-5G-6-LO reconnaissance version by Lockheed's Modification Center, Dallas, Texas. On January 23, 1946, the aircraft was transferred to RFC at Kingman, Arizona, for disposition.

In 1948 it was sold to the Honduran AF, Robert Forsblades delivered the aircraft from Miami, Florida to Honduras on October 1. It was converted back to a fighter and serialed FAH-504, it used its guns in anger in one of the many territorial disputes with Nicaragua since 1906. It was struck off charge in 1960.

From March 31, 1960 on it was registered in the USA successively to:
Bob Bean Aircraft, Blythe, California (1960-1965, N74883); Ed Maloney, Ontario, California (1965-1967); G.E. Blumer, Puyellup, Washington (1969-1972, named Scrapiron IV and listed as Racer number "59"); Don Hull, Houston, Texas (1976, N38DH); Friends Of Harbor Island Inc., San Diego, California (1977).

Finally this aircraft was registered as N6961 to John G. Deahl of Denver, Colerado on July 26, 1977-1981. On April 9, 1981, N6961 crashed on take off from Salt Lake City, Utah, John Deahl was killed.
