Westland Lysander Mk.II

05/15/2007. Remarks by Bill Walker: "Built under license by National Steel Car, Malton, Ontario. Delivered to the RCAF on January 15, 1941 and coded GV-B it became part of No. 3 Coastal Artillery Cooperation Detachment, at Patricia Bay. Crashed at Piers Island, British Columbia on April 14, 1942 and subsequently struck off charge on May 8.

The aircraft in the photo can be armed with depth charges. The CAC Squadrons and Detachments were used for short-range anti-submarine patrols on both coasts, in addition to artillery spotting and target towing."
