10/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was manufactured by General Motors as a TBM-3S and delivered to the USN, BuNo. 53337. It was transferred to the RCN on May 29, 1952 and was designated Avenger AS.Mk.3, s/n 53337, coded 390. Struck off charge on January 10, 1958 it was sold to Skyway Air Services, Langley, British Columbia, registered as CF-IMI, and subsequently converted to a tanker.
In 1969 it was registered to Conair at Abbotsford, and listed as tanker number 601. Withdrawn from use in 1977, it was sold in 1981 to Forest Protection, at Fredericton, New Brunswick, to be stored in 1984. In 1994 it was sold to Vintage Wings of Seattle, Washington, USA, who resold it on September 15 to Warren Al Pietsch, Minot, North Dakota, registered as N337GA.
On April 27, 2001 it was registered to GWG Inc., Seattle, Washington. The registration was cancelled on February 7, 2006, as the aircraft was sold to Australia, where it was registered to Stephen Searle, Kallangur, Queensland, Australiaas VH-VTB on April 5, 2007."
