This P-40E-1, export version of P-40E, was built for the RAF, s/n EV250. However, it was retained in the US and collided with another aicraft on takeoff at Hillgrove Army Air Base, Rhode Island, USA, December 27, 1942. It was repaired and probably than the fin fillet was added giving it the P-40K look.
