Curtiss CW-20B-2 EC-46D Commando

01/31/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Curtiss produced this aircraft in 1944 as a Model CW-20B-2 and it was delivered to the USAAF as a C-46A-60-CK with the s/n 43-47328. On April 15, 1946 it was transferred to the Chinese AF, and in 1949 it was transferred to the Taiwan AF. On February 5, 1960 it was taken on strength by the Japan Air Self Defense Force with the s/n 91-1145.

Reportedly it was one of three C-46s that were converted into EC-46D ECM (Electronic Counter-Measures) trainers in 1973. In 1978 it was withdrawn from use and stored. Presently it is on display at Iruma AB, although the nose radome has been removed."
