Johan Visschedijk: "This fighter was built in 1918 for the German AAS, serialed 8403/18. It was one of the 142 D.VIIs that were shipped to the USA after WWI, where it was allotted the USAAS serial 94102.

Fitted with a 375 hp Packard 1A-1237 twelve-cylinder liquid-cooled V-engine, it was tested at McCook Field under the Project Number
"P-144". It was surveyed on September 2, 1922."
