12/31/2024. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The factory fresh aircraft pictured here, was the fifteenth of the first Fury Mk.II production batch of 23 aircraft, serialed K7263 to K7285, of which the first flew on December 3. 1936. K7279 was allotted to RAF No. 25 Squadron, the first unit to receive the type, and it participated in the Air Display at RAF Hendon Aerodrome on June 26, 1937.
Some five weeks later, August 2, 1937, shortly after departing RAF Hawkinge, near Folkestone, Kent, K7279's engine failed and Pilot Officer K.L. Keith had to make a forced landing at Burmarsh, near Dymchurch, Kent. The aircraft hit a ditch and was damaged beyond repair, the pilot sustained unknown injuries."
