07/31/2009. The Argentine AF bought ten Fw 44s from Focke-Wulf in 1936, and in 1937 the FMA (Fábrica Militar de Aviones) acquired the license to produce the type in series, the first flew December 6, 1937, and eventually 190 Stieglitz (Goldfinch) aircraft were produced.
