VH-UXL on October 13, 1936. It was registered to W.J Smith and A.E Cooper of Point Piper, New South Wales on September 15, 1939, February 25, 1941 it was deregistered (a day after it was impressed by the RAAF) and designated A38 under the s/n A38-1.
For repair it went to Ansett at Essendon, Victoria, on December 14, 1942, on June 22, 1943 it arrived at 1AD (No. 1 Aircraft Depot) at Laverton, three days later it was transferred to 2CF (No. 2 Communication Flight) at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, and arrived at 2CRD (No. 2 Crash Repair Depot), Richmond on June 26, 1944. It was transferred to the Department of Civil Aviation on May 4, 1945.
It returned on the civil registry as VH-UXL, subsequently registered to:
