07/31/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Produced in 1969, the aircraft was registered N8676Y in the USA, before it was registered to the Piper distributor in the UK, CSE Aviation Ltd of Kidlington, Oxford, as G-AXER on May 7, 1969.

To participate in the London-Sydney Air Race (December 18, 1969 to January 4, 1970) the aircraft was registered EI-ANU in Ireland on December 1, 1969. Wearing a Kerrygold (dairy products) livery, and the race number 69, it was flown by T. Phillips and V. R. Mitchell. It placed fourth in a field of 63 paticipant, and second in Class B, for twin-engined aircraft.

Already on January 29, 1970, the aircraft returned to the UK, taking up the previous registration G-AXER, changing hands onother eight times before it returned to the USA, registered as N44278 on July 29, 1983. Five years later, on October 7, 1988, it was registered in Canada as C-FORR, It is still registered as such, although it again has changed hands a few times."
