10/23/2002. Remarks by David Haring, Assistent Manager, Cheyenne Airport: "The airport opened on September 8th, 1920. In the picture, you are actually facing West. The lake in the the picture is Sloans lake and now sits in the middle of Lions Park. The largest building in the picture was a maintenance base for United Air Lines and is now occupied by a company named Cheyenne Airmotive. The building to the left (south) of the facility was the original terminal building and is the Airport Administration building today. Attached a brief history of the Cheyenne Airport."
