Charles Lindbergh and Laura Ignalls departed from Roosevelt Field on their history-making flights. Igor Sikorsky began manufacturing airplanes on a farm near the field. Roosevelt Field was named for President Theodor Roosevelt's son Quentin. A mall occupies the site now. |
