10/31/2023. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This single-seat sport type was originally designed as the Westfall Sport by Miles Westfall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1934. That year Westfall constructed one Sport (registered NC13954 c/n 103), which was powered by a 40 hp Ford A four-cylinder liquid-cooled in-line engine. Circa 1957 it was rebuilt with a 75 hp Continental A-75 four-cylinder horizontal-opposed air-cooled engine, and was active into 1970. A second Sport was built by Westfall in 1937, fitted with a 65 hp LeBlond 5D five-cylinder air-cooled radial engine.
An unknown number Sports were built by others from marketed plans, including this aircraft. This was built by David W. Horal of Midway City, California, who fitted a 90 hp Ken-Royce 5G five-cylinder air-cooled radial engine. The aircraft was completed in late 1972 and designated MW-3 the Sport received its Registration Certificate on January 9, 1973. Horal was the registered owner for 46 years, the registration was cancelled January 15, 2019."
