11/30/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built for the 1938 National Air Races and powered by a 290 hp Menasco C-6 Buccaneer six-cylinder engine it placed second in the Greve Trophy Race with 250.42 mph (403.01 kmh). In the 1939 race it won with a new speed record of 263.39 mph (423.89 kmh). In 1947 it was sold to Bill Falck who rebuild it as a Midget racer with a 85 hp Continental C-85 four-cylinder air-cooled horizontally-opposed engine."
