Remarks by Ron Smith: "One of the last aircraft produced by the Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England) Limited, this aircraft was registered G-AHAU on February 8, 1946, 26 days before the company announced the name change to Auster Aircraft Limited on March 8. The aircraft received a number of modifications over the years and it is still registered as of this day, although to its eleventh owner. Auster continued to produce the type under the designation 5J1 Autocrat.
