Abernathy Streaker

11/15/2020. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg and Johan Visschedijk: "Robert 'Bob' Abernathy of Brooks, Georgia, USA, heavily modified a Stephens Akro into the Streaker. Powered by a 200 hp Lycoming AEIO-360 series engine, the single-seat aerobatic aircraft was first flown in early 1983, it received a CofA on March 9. On September 16, 1985, the aircraft was registered to the aerobatic pilot Linda E. Meyers of Miami, Florida. By March 16, 1998, Brantley Coile of Athens, Georgia, was the owner of the Streaker.

On September 5, 2000, the aircraft was severely damaged during an aerobatic contest flight at Sherman, Texas. During a 45 degree nose down dive from a height of 4,300 ft, the top skin of the right wing failed, the right wing rear spar buckled, and the aileron had a restricted movement. The pilot made a safe landing.

The aircraft was repaired and by November 2, 2011, it had been registered to its present owner, Robert Armstrong of, Bishop, Georgia."
