Andre Freebird 300

12/15/2021. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The Freebird 300 single-seat unlimited aerobatic aircraft was designed by George M. Andre of Creve Coeur, Missouri, USA. The design had features copied from the German Extra and Lazer designs and was fitted with so-called Zivko 540 Edge wings, constructed mainly of carbon fiber and stressed for 20 g. It was fitted with a 310 hp Lycoming AEIO-540 engine driving a three-bladed MT composite propellor. Construction took four years. Registered to GMA Inc. (name formed by the initials of Mr. Andre) as N111XY, the aircraft first flown in April 1995. The aircraft was mainly used for air show work, hence the aircraft was reregistered to another firm of Mr. Andre, Freebird Inc., on March 5, 1996. Only four years later, March 7, 2000, the one-of-a-kind aircraft was stricken from the US Register, reasoned as 'destroyed'.
