06/30/2008. Remarks by Ron Fogel: "My father, Marvin Fogel, met the helicopter designer and builder George Sharp of Newhall, California at the Van Nuys air show in about 1967. George had a homebuilt helicopter at the show.
Dad wanted to build a plane, I'm not sure which one thought up the WEE 51 as I was just a kid, about 9 or 10. George was the builder and dad financed and helped build it. At some point in the project they had a hanger at Van Nuys across from Clay Lacy's purple Mustang N64CL. They learned allot from those guys, as I remember it, they actually talked Clay into test piloting the WEE 51 but it never happened.
The WEE 51 wasn't quite finished and dad was killed in a car accident in June of 1969. The plane was about 85% finished and I never saw it again. I would love to see it again."
