Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "Constructed by Ernest Tips
of Gosselies, Belgium and flown March 1939, subsequently all design material,
including drawings, were lost during the war. On February 24, 1948 it was sold
to Fairey Aviation (UK) as G-AKSX (not taken up). Flew briefly registered as
G-6-1, the original de Havilland Gipsy Major replaced by the stronger 145 hp de Havilland Gipsy
Major 10. Later it was fitted with a 155 hp Blackburn Cirrus Major 3. Finally
it was dismantled March 1948 and used as pattern aircraft for the Fairey Primer. |
