One of 4 aircaft built to test the planform and low speed characteristics of the projected Avro 698 Vulcan bomber. The 707B flew on 6 September 1950 and resumed the flight-test program abruptly ended by the crash of the Avro 707 early after its first flight that took place on 4 September 1949. Later followed the 707A and 707C. |
