08/12/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This Stratocruiser came off the assembly line on October 4, 1949, made its first flight on October 12 and was delivered to United Air Lines on October 28, 1949 with fleet number 7226. United used it for service to the Territory of Hawaii and within the USA. United sold it to British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) on October 27, 1954 with 9,161 hours on the airframe.
After conversion by Lockheed Air Service, the aircraft was delivered to BOAC on May 1, 1955 registered G-ANTY and named RMA "Coriolanus". Sold to Transocean Air Lines (TALOA), the aircraft left England on July 27, 1959 with 18,966 hours on the airframe. In the USA, it was registered N105Q and later N413Q but it never entered service with TALOA. It was sold on January 1, 1960 and eventually placed in storage at Mojave, California, and scrapped in the mid-1960s."
