04/30/2008. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "Originally built in Germany, this aircraft was brought to France after WW II, refurbished, and came on the French register as F-BCSY in 1950. It was obtained by Mr. Léon Biancotto, the French aerobatic champion, and after his death it was sold to Nord Aviation. It was bought by Mr. Lucien Canu, and is still registered as F-BCSY
Mr. Canu re-engined it with an 180 hp Lycoming O-360 engine and fitted it with a canopy. It first flew in its new guise in 1970 and was registered as F-PCSY in the homebuilt category, and was also known as the Canu Model 01. It is still registered as F-PCSY, although the hood has been removed and the aircraft is fitted with a roll-over bar, covered by a spine."
