Trefethen Vision

05/31/2018. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg and Johan Visschedijk: "Tom Trefethen of Vision Co. at Lomita, California, USA, designed the single-seat homebuilt sport aircraft Vision purely as a proof of concept vehicle and for research and development purposes. Emphasis in the design was on easy construction and quick assembly/disassembly of the wings, combined with a good performance on a low-power engine. Work on the Vision project started in April 1985 and the aircraft first flew during 1987.

Powered by a 65 hp Rotax 532 two-stroke piston engine, the Vision had a maximum speed of 149 mph (240 kmh), a cruise speed of 133 mph (214 kmh) and an initial rate of climb of 787 ft (240 m)/min. It received its CofA on December 3, 1987, but no further development took place. However, the aircraft is still registered to Trefethen, with an expiration date of February 28, 2019."
