Original built as the second of two pre-production prototypes of the CH-53E Super Stellion and first flown in December 1975. It was picked to become the prototype of a new MCM (Mine Counter Measures) helicopter, the MH-53E flew for the first time December 23, 1981. Most obvious difference from the other H-53E versions are the huge sponsons that carry additional fuel. |
