This aircraft was manufactured in 1971 and was first flown with 'Class
B' markings G-51-251. It was exported to Kenya where it was registered
5Y-AMU. On April 13, 1977 it was registered by Dowty in the UK as
G-FANS and fitted experimentally with Dowty-Rotol ducted fans. It was
flown in the pictured configuration for the first time by Squadron
Leader Neville Duke from Shoreham on June 10, 1977. On November 17,
1983 it de-registered, fitted with the standard propulsion, and
registered as G-HGPC. It was de-registered on April 3, 1989 and sold
to Guyana as 8R-GGU. View also photo 7713.
